Rocket Birthday Party Freebie

My son just turned 5 and this year we had a "rocket" party. It was actually setup more as a NASA party, but since he doesn't know what NASA is - it soon became a rocket party. We shot aliens with a nerf gun, colored space pictures (black paper with colored chalk) and shot off stomp rockets (a must have). The cake turned out fabulous, if I do say so myself. It was a fun and easy cake to make. You can find the original instructions HERE. I did piece a few pieces together for the fins, I didn't want them to be triangles as it shows in the instructions. And if you haven't ever made a cake that you have to cut apart - freeze it first and it were be a piece of cake (I know, cheesy - but that's really how ya do it).
My ideas for this party transpired from an amazing party showcased HERE. You have to check it out - it's quite the party. A bit over the top for a manageable birthday party for me and my life, but inspiring nonetheless. This is what I did for invites:
All the boys got awards at the end of the party.
And I had so much fun making these Thank You cards.

If you are interested in doing a party like this...I have a few things to help you get started. This download includes a blank invite, png thank you cards so you can add your own space rangers' pictures, a certificate of completion, an 8x10 full of aliens for printing and shooting, and a rocket ship coloring page (3 to a page, I used this to put on their take-home bags). Invite and Thank You's are 4x6, so just have them printed as pictures - super easy.
Download HERE and let me know how you like it. I hope it makes for a fun party for you, too.

Ahhh's, ouchies & Booboo's Kit & Freebie

Well, the kit name may be long ... but that's just cuz it full of so many cute things. Tracy's got this kit in her store now - click the kit preview to head over. What a fun way to show all those "crash & burn" pictures. Here's my son's latest crash and burn - which resulted in the biggest, fattest lip I've ever seen. You can also get a free qp below. Enjoy!

Zoo Flamingos & QP freebie

Jen just came out with the cutest wordart for your trip to the zoo. My layout, however, is not your typical "zoo" look, but I gotta be honest - I love it. I used a kit called "Where the Heart Is" from Grandma's Templates. I know, kinda random to use as a zoo layout. But I'm a fan of earthy tones. So - enjoy the freebie, which obviously can be used for anything, and check out Jen's wordart HERE. Image linked.

Grace Kit, QP and a Template

I am so excited for Tracy, who is expecting her 3rd child, after adopting her first two. Such a miracle story. Anyhow, she named this kit "Grace" after her soon-to-be baby girl. I love it! Pink and brown are so cute together, and there are some fabulous papers and elements to play with here. Click the kit preview to head to her blog. Below is my layout followed by two freebies for you. The QTpie wordart is from Jen who has fabulous stuff on her site - check them out HERE.
Click the QP image below to grab this layout ... and, for the first time - I am also offering the template. I'm not sure that I will go into designing templates, but I thought I would see if there's an interest. So let me know what you think. And enjoy!

Desktop Freebie

I have seen several cute scrapped desktops out there - but have personally never put one on my computer ... until now - and I love it! Don't know if I can ever go back to just putting a plain ol' picture on. This was inspired by one of Christina Brown's Designs , made beautiful with a kit from Summer Driggs - Sweet Springtime. I am so happy every time I turn on my computer and see my cute little family smiling back at me - that I thought I would offer this as a freebie. Click the desktop preview below to download. And as always, Happy Scrapping!
